APHA Fact Sheets on How Transportation Policy Affects Health
The American Public Health Association (APHA) has published two new fact sheets, which contain statistics that highlight how transportation affects health, as well as specifics on what initiatives and policies APHA supports. “Transportation and Public Health” explores how transportation decisions affect our individual lives, economy and health. “Equity and Health Issues in Transportation” highlights how limited opportunities for physical activity, higher exposure to poor air quality, higher incidences of adult and childhood obesity and greater prevalence of asthma and cardiovascular disease are a few of the inequities enabled by poor transportation policies.
