Next Steps in Planning, Land Use and Transportation Policy: Public Health Advocacy and Policymaker Engagement

In January, 2012, RAMP hosted a webinar that provided an overview of the landmark Smart Growth and Climate Change bill (SB 375) that focuses on land use and transportation issues as it relates to public health and asthma. Carl Anthony of Breakthrough Communities provided updates from the development of Sustainable Communities Strategies from around the state.

On this webinar participants learned about:

  • How land use and transportation planning is connected to asthma
  • What state and regional agencies are involved in the planning process
  • Strategies to outreach and educate policymakers – key stakeholders in creating healthier communities.
