Breathing by Design – Indoor Air Quality in Mobile Homes

“Breathing by Design: Voluntary Non-Smoking Policies and Their Broader Value” is a toolkit developed by Shasta County Health & Human Services Agency, Public Health (HHSA) in partnership with California Breathing, an asthma program within the California Department of Public Health. HHSA worked with local mobile home parks that cater to low-income seniors to implement smoke-free policies and to provide asthma education.

The toolkit is designed to provide guidance and perspective for health promotion and policy development within mobile home communities. It includes implementation tips and strategies for working with this population, as well as sample tools for implementing similar projects in your community. The information contained within this toolkit is based on work conducted in Shasta County through a Strategic Plan Implementation Grant from California Breathing.
