Community Health Workers: Roles and Opportunities in Health Care Delivery System Reform

The US Department of Health and Human Services has released a brief examining the opportunities community health workers have to improve health care access, care coordination, and provide increase value in health care investments. Due to their strong link with the community, community health workers have a unique opportunity to be adaptive and creative when responding to individual and community needs.
