National Association of Chronic Disease Directors Releases Guide for Incorporating Health and Wellness into School Improvement Plans

The National Association of Chronic Disease Directors has released “A Guide for Incorporating Health & Wellness into School Improvement Plans.” School Improvement plans are often used as a means to improve student academic achievement and work toward overall school reform. This guide focuses on a broader, more comprehensive approach to a school improvement plan, making sure to include the “needs of the whole child, and incorporating goals or activities designed to address non-academic barriers to learning,” including addressing student health needs.
