Article Investigates Perspectives of Community Health Workers Making Asthma Home Visits for Low-Income, Minority Patients

An article published in the December 2016 edition of the Journal of Allergy and Clinic Immunology examines “the perspective of community health workers and the challenges they encountered while making home visits while implementing a research intervention in a cohort of low-income, minority patients.” The article discusses how “poor housing, often the result of poverty and lack of social resources” is a major player in chronic asthma.
