RAMP-sponsored Bill Passes with Bipartisan Support
Access to essential asthma education and healthy housing took an important step forward on April 18th! During a California Assembly Health Committee hearing, Assembly Bill 391 passed with an 11-0 vote after the compelling testimony of Mariasmin Mejia, who received asthma education from a Community Health Worker from San Francisco General, and Alena Wall with the Northern California Center for Well Being.
Mariasmin is pictured here with her family, Assemblymember David Chiu, and staff from the three co-sponsors of the bill: RAMP, California Pan Ethnic Health Network and Children Now. For more information on AB 391 – including how you can help as the bills moves forward — click here.
