American Lung Association Offers Scholarships for Open Airways for School Facilitator Training; Deadline 1/31

The American Lung Association (ALA) has a limited number of scholarships available for individuals that want to get trained to facilitate the American Lung Association’s Open Airways for Schools program. The scholarships are made possible through a grant from Sanofi Genzyme and Regeneron. The scholarship covers the cost of the OAS Facilitator Training fee (a $400 value) and includes implementation materials.

OAS is an evidence-based program that educates and empowers children ages 8 to 11 through a fun and interactive approach to asthma self-management. The program teaches children with asthma how to detect the warning signs of asthma, avoid their triggers, and make decisions about their health.

Under this scholarship opportunity, the ALA is requesting that facilitator candidate apply for the scholarship by 1/31/22, have “ready-access” to high-burden, elementary-aged children with asthma (ages 8-11), and can implement at least one OAS program to elementary-aged children (in-person or virtually) within the 2021-2022 school year.

If this sounds like a great opportunity for you, please complete the program scholarship request form. For any additional questions, please email
