Job Opportunity: ALA Hiring a Clean Air Advocacy Manager

The American Lung Association is hiring a Clean Air Advocacy Manager. Working as a member of the Advocacy and Public Policy department, the position will work to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education, and advocacy.

The American Lung Association is leading the fight to protect public health from dangerous air pollution and climate change caused by emissions from vehicles, power plants and other sources.  This position will coordinate state-level advocacy to support zero-emission vehicles by pushing states to adopt the Advanced Clean Cars II program. This program, which California has already adopted and other states can join, will ensure that 100% of new cars sold are zero-emission by 2035. The Manager will track state policies and opportunities to adopt the program, engage in direct advocacy, coordinate with and equip other Lung Association advocacy staff to push for the standards in target states, work with health and medical organizations and professionals, recruit grassroots action from individuals who can speak to the personal impact of polluting vehicles. The Manager will work with a team of advocacy staff at the state and national levels.  This is a grant-funded position.
