“The California Air Resources Board (CARB) updated the Indoor Air Quality Guideline for formaldehyde, entitled Formaldehyde in the Home,”” and announced its availability on August 2, 2004. The original version (CARB IAQ Guideline No. 1) was from 1991. Formalehyde, a volatile organic compound known to irritate the respiratory system and eyes, has several primary and secondary sources indoors and outdoors. These can be controlled or reduced/removed to prevent or minimize exposure.
