The next CDC Asthma Teleconference will be August 10th from 12-1 Pacific time. Dr. Karen Warman and Ms. Tracy Cooper will discuss several facets of the Inner City Asthma Intervention Program (ICAI). CDC is funding grantees in 15 states to provide inner city families with asthma education and individualized asthma control plans. Karen Warman, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. She is a general pediatrician and health service researcher with more than 10 years experience studying asthma morbidity in the inner-city and implementing interventions. She is currently the Project Director for Montefiore’s CDC- funded/ACHP administered Inner-city Asthma Intervention. Tracy Cooper, MSW, LSW, AE-C is the Asthma Counselor for the Inner-City Asthma Intervention at Stroger Hospital of Cook County and Rush University Medical Center. She also utilizes her management, technological and social work skills, along with her varied education and training experiences to aid children and families with asthma and therapeutic needs through both public and not for profit agencies.
