Imperial County: Indoor Air Quality in California Schools Train the Trainer Workshop

The workshop is designed for school personnel, healthcare providers, parents, and community activists. It is a 5-hr. training workshop which will teach participants to assess indoor air and environmental quality (IAQ) in schools. Participants will: 1) receive a hands-on guided tour of Ben Hulse Elementary School to observe practices impacting IAQ; 2) learn how IAQ affects asthma and overall health of students and teachers; 3) get an overview of USEPA’s Tools for Schools Program and other IAQ programs for schools; and 4) see what other schools are doing to improve the air in their schools. The training will take place Tuesday, September 14, 2004 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the El Centro Regional Medical Center Medical Plaza (1271 Ross Avenue), Room 1. This workshop is sponsored by California Breathing, Community Action to Fight Asthma (CAFA), the Imperial Valley Asthma Coalition, and the National Latino Research Center.
