DHS Guidelines on Managing Asthma in Schools
California Department of Health Services (CDHS) has approved the release of a new resource for schools to assist children with asthma. The Guidelines for the Management of Asthma in California Schools were developed jointly by health professionals in the California Department of Education and the California Asthma Public Health Initiative (CDHS) in statewide collaboration with asthma experts and stakeholders. The guidelines are based upon expert reports from the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) and provide the most up to date information about how school health and other personnel can assist children in managing their asthma in the school setting.
