California Environmental Scorecard

The California League of Conservation Voters released the scores from the 2004 California Environmental Scorecard, the 31st annual guide to environmental legislation and votes. 2004 saw a decline in environmental scores overall. The Legislature continues to be divided along party lines: Assembly Republicans scored an average of 6% and Senate Republicans averaged just 1.5%, while Democrats in each house averaged 85% and 87% (respectively). There were more 0% scores than there were 100% scores, but Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger split the difference with a 58% rating. Scores are available on CLCV’s website at //www.ecovote.org/scorecards/2004/
